The structure of hot accretion disks in active galactic nuclei (AGNs) is investigated, including soft photon injection, nonthermal relativistic electron injection, and pair cascades.

The primary X-ray emission in active galactic nuclei (AGNs) is widely believed to be due to Comptonisation of the thermal radiation from the accretion disc in a corona of hot electrons.

Research into active galactic nuclei (AGN) - the compact, luminous hearts of many galaxies - is at the forefront of modern astrophysics. Understanding these objects requires extensive knowledge in many different areas: accretion disks, the physics of dust and ionized gas, astronomical spectroscopy, star formation, and the cosmological evolution of galaxies and black holes.

Radio Galaxies have by now emerged as a new γ-ray emitting source class on the extragalactic sky. Given their remarkable observed characteristics, such as unusual gamma-ray spectra or ultrafast VHE variability, they represent unique examples to probe the nature and physics of active galactic nuclei (AGN) in general.

This review provides a compact summary of their observed characteristics at Cited by:   Relativistic Reconnection and Particle Acceleration In the Petschek regime, the reconnection rate is estimated as v ≈ ≈ c. (5) rec ln S The plasma is ejected from the system between two pairs of slow shocks with Alfvén veloc- ity (2); in the high-σ limit, the outflow becomes highly relativistic with the Lorentz factor γ = σ.

Variability in active galactic nuclei is observed in UV to X-ray emission based light curves. This could be attributed to orbital signatures of the plasma that constitutes the accretion flow on the putative disk or in the developing jet close to the inner region of the central black hole.

We discuss some theoretical models based on this view. Studies of accreting stellar mass black holes also improve our understanding of active Galactic nuclei (AGN) and quasars. X-ray binaries with relativistic jets are often called microquasars (Mirabel et al. ) because of the similarities between these systems and quasars.

However, detailed comparisons between the two populations are hampered. This banner text can have markup. web; books; video; audio; software; images; Toggle navigation.

The physical properties of X-ray novae as close binary systems are analysed. Observational data in X-ray, UV, optical, IR and radio ranges are summarized. Modern theoretical considerations of the problem of X-ray novae, taking into account some new ideas and results, are described. Properties of optical stars in X-ray novae are analysed.

Data about the masses of black holes in X-ray binary. Our disk corona model is based on the so-called nanoflare model for the solar corona. We show that the magnetic heating near the disks can result in the formation of a hot corona with a temperature of ≳ K, even if the average field strength in the disk is moderately weak, ≳1 G.

The broadband energy spectra of Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) are very complex in nature with the contribution from many ingredients: accretion disk, corona, jets, broad-line. Such galactic nuclei are called AGNs (active galactic nuclei), and colloquially the host galaxies themselves which harbor such active nuclei are often referred to as AGNs, since compared to the nucleus the brightness of the rest of the galaxy pales by comparison, to the point that from far away often only the nucleus is detected.
